May 28, 2003 - Hundreds of firefighters, their families and supporters rallied before the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation's memorial competition forum on the evening of May 28th.  Their purpose is to seek the reversal of the decision that will not acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of the uniformed rescue workers killed on 9/11.  The organization, Advocates for a 9-11 Fallen Heroes, is appealing to New Yorkers and Americans across the nation, to lend their support in listing the fallen rescue workers together, by department, on the memorial along with a recognition of their brave actions.

...So they have to fight for it, and fight they will.
June 18, 2003 NY Daily News: Point/Counterpoint
Same 9/11 honor for all? No. Let rescuers be listed separately
